We are so excited to share Molly and Corey Namors’ wedding day at The Farrell in Homewood. We had the joy of photographing Molly’s bridal luncheon at Shoppe Birmingham the day before, so this makes for a sweet follow up to that post. Two beautiful days back to back, and this one ended in a Mr. and Mrs.
Molly got ready at The Valley Hotel in Homewood, in a light and bright room dressed all in soft whites, the kind of space that lets a bride’s dress and veil do all the talking. Corey headed straight to The Farrell, where he got dressed and grabbed a few portraits in front of the venue’s moody, dreamy green mural wall, navy three piece suit, soft gray vest, and a patterned tie, calm and put together before the day picked up speed.
Molly and Corey had their first look at The Farrell, and from there moved into portraits together, walking hand in hand with her veil trailing behind her. We love catching that in between walk, not quite posed and not quite candid, just two people about to marry each other and clearly ready for it.
The ceremony itself was simple and sincere, held indoors in front of a wooden cross wrapped in white roses and greenery, with soft curtained light pouring in behind them. A violinist played as guests found their seats and again as Molly walked down the aisle, and when the two of them finally kissed, surrounded by white florals lining the aisle, the whole room felt it. Some of our favorite frames from any wedding are the ones taken in that split second right after a couple becomes married, and this was one of them.
Molly and Corey posed for a few portraits next to a classic white vintage car parked beneath The Farrell’s sign before the ceremony. Later, once the light turned gold, we brought them back outside for sunset portraits right out front of the venue, no car this time, just the two of them in that warm, low Alabama light having fun and avoiding any extra heat. That’s Molly and Corey in a nutshell honestly, fun, a little cool, completely at ease with each other, and clearly loved well by the people around them.
The reception leaned into who they are as a couple, and we loved that. Molly and Corey are big pool players, and their design team wove that love into nearly every detail without it ever feeling like a gimmick. Their seating chart read “Find Your Cue” with cue sticks flanking either side, their signature cocktail was called Cue the Berry Bliss, and their drink menu was shaped like a billiards rack triangle. Even their cake, a hand painted four tier design covered in soft blue florals from Pen & Pastry, sat next to a monogrammed cue ball and a cake topper of two silhouettes leaning over a pool table. It takes real intention to pull off a theme like that this tastefully, and their vendor team nailed it.
The reception space itself, lit low and dressed in blues and whites, played host to long tables full of delphinium, ranunculus, tulips, and roses from Laurel & Sage, with a lit up “Birmingham, The Magic City” sign glowing behind one of the head tables. Candlelight everywhere, that ticking stripe linen, and a room full of people who clearly know how to have a good time together.
We say this often, but it’s true every time. The best weddings aren’t the ones with the most bells and whistles, they’re the ones that feel unmistakably like the couple throwing them. Molly and Corey’s day felt exactly like them: joyful, a little playful, deeply rooted in family and friends, and never trying too hard to be anything other than what it already was. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Namors! We loved every minute of your wedding day.
