Alex & Sara
Hey Y’all! We’re Alex & Sara Lucas! In our 10 years of being together we have grown up, moved 9 times, started a photography business (like, HELLO!), and had our sweet son Jax. In our nearly 7 years of wedding photography we have become more and more connected to our couples and their families. So it was an easy decision to ditch our day jobs and take this full time! There isn’t anything better than photographing couples on the best day of their life. Although it would be arguably better if we could do it with queso in our bags.
The Story of Us
Maybe it was our love of all things Chip and Joanna, our amazing taste in Netflix shows or our deep love for take-out that lead us together… (OR a chance meeting at the mall with some friends when we were 14.) We blissfully got swept up in a whirlwind romance, fell madly in love for what seemed like forever and were torn apart by our distance – Ok so, It lasted 2 weeks, we lived 30 minutes apart and we didn’t have cars. #teenagers.
A chance meeting brought us back together, (I think it was on the front porch at a mutual friend’s house?) and from that moment on we were inseparable.
What tore us apart now brought us back together (We had cars. And were also adults. #score.) and our love story blossomed into a New York Times best-selling rom-com…

I’m Sara! I’m pretty much that girl who believes everything deserves its own song. It’s TRUE! I sing behind my camera while shooting which means you might hear me before you see me. I keep a contagious smile 99% of the time & I’m that girl who is so bubbly and excitable I practically skip when I walk. I’m a sucker for our son Jax, for sappy love stories movies or tv shows, and crying while watching them. (I’ll never let go Jack!) After having me own son I rarely make it through a mother son dance with dry eyes. When my time comes with Jax it’s going to be a very surreal day!
You’re probably wondering about the red hair. Yes, it’s natural and I pretty much always keep the edges nice to stay on “fleek” as the cool kids say. Why yes, I do enjoy being part of the elite tribe of gingers that represents the TOP 1% of the population. Red is my go to color besides my ultra love of everything white with a touch of plant. I’ve never met a stranger & I am super easy going and pretty much laughing at my wife or son, Jax, non-stop. I love life, laughing and I’m pretty much the sarcasm king.
We believe that some of the most romantic moments are the ones when you are laughing together until you cry or snuggled up to watch Netflix and you let THEM choose – Compromise they say.
