Happy Wedding Wednesday Friends! We celebrated Shawn & Lillian on Saturday and we have just been itching to get these images up to share all the excitement with you. If you remember from Shawn & Lillian’s engagement session we told a little story about how we met. It’s not the usual form of submitting the contact button or even stalking us on Instagram and Facebook. No, it was a chance meeting 3 years ago at Barnes & Noble in Hoover. Alex and I were sitting down with a potential bride & groom along with their parents too! I can’t remember what all we said to this couple – but they did book (always good news!) and it swayed our soon-to-be friend to ask us for our business card. That friend that we hadn’t met yet was Shawn. After our consult, he said “Hey, I overheard you guys talking and you are just so kind, friendly, and professional. I know I am going to propose to my current girlfriend and would love you to photograph our wedding”. We talk for a few moments, give him the card and went about our day. It was just memorable enough to know that when he contacted us 2 years later to photograph his wedding we were not only astonished that this guy KEPT our business card for 2 years but that he finally proposed to Lillian and he still wanted us to be there for their big day!
Crazy HUH? It sure did make us feel so loved & know that God has perfectly placed Lillian and Shawn in our lives. It must be because he knew the perfect way to spend April 28, 2018 was celebrating along these two and their families. MAN OH MAN. They didn’t disappoint. Not only can every single one of Lillian’s family dance – even her adorable Nephew and Neice – but they sure are really good at it! It kept us entertained throughout the entire reception and gave us memories for a lifetime. Especially that daddy-daughter dance. You can truly see all that movement. I get tired just looking at the images haha.
I love that Lillian incorporated her own family as her bridal party. This made the entire day so close and heartfelt. She got her dress on in HER CHILDHOOD ROOM. First, I could only dream of such a gorgeous room for myself haha but the fact that so many memories were made in this room and such a big one happened again just warms our hearts. Her 3 brothers – 2 of which are TWINS – came in the room and were just floored. There was a moment when he brother just looked at her and said: “Oh my gosh Lillian, you are absolutely beautiful in that dress”. *TEARS*. So, they basically had me at hello – I think that’s how that song goes haha.
We couldn’t be more happy for Shawn & Lillian on their new marriage. We are 100% obsessed with these images and the memories they hold! I am truly excited that this is a new little piece on our hard drive that will never get deleted. Because we have every image we have taken since 2007. THAT’S A LOT OF PICTURES (&WEDDINGS) Y’ALL! It will remain with us forever and we couldn’t be more thankful for that! Love you both & hope you’re having a stellar honeymoon!
xoxo
