We absolutely adore days where the bride & groom decide to do a first look together! Not only does it give us more time together with both of them together on their wedding day it also serves as the best time to have some private time together. If you have been on a wedding day before then you know just how treasured that quiet time truly is.
Out of the 6 years, we have been wedding photographers these are our TOP 5 favorites! Not to say we don’t love them all but these sure did pull at our hearts and leave us with all the feels even years later! Also, these first looks are in no particular order <3 It would be impossible to pick just 1 favorite from these couples!
Katie & Caleb
It feels like just yesterday but my goodness it’s been almost 2 years since we celebrated their wedding day at The Barn at Shady Lane – a wedding venue in Bimringham, AL! These two had such a sweet day and I remember it so clearly because we were at a race against the rain! On top of that – Caleb had such a big heart and Katie is the perfect person to have it forever! She was a stunner and I think Caleb thought so too! This was the first wedding we ever did back to back note readings right before they saw each other & wow did it add that extra special emotional touch! We love a gent that has a heart to show!
Emily & Jake
Maybe rain has a way of making people a little more emotional because we were crossing fingers for no rain on this wedding day too! Emily & Jake spent their day at The Oaks at Centreville and they had the sweetest first look that wasn’t exactly Jake’s favorite idea but like any great groom he was willing to compromise a little to make his beautiful bride, Emily, happy! So, we did a sweet touch of him covering his eyes and dropping them when he was ready. He had been patiently waiting all day and it all led to this special moment for them to be able to take in together. I think we were all tearing up behind our cameras. WHAT A GUY! WHAT A COUPLE <3

Amy & Hayden
They chose to say I Do at one of our favorite wedding venues in Birmingham, Aldridge Gardens. The day was going perfectly with Kendal Perry Wedding Planning and all of that stressfree morning finally led us to the afternoon where Hayden got to meet his bride. We have known these two for quite some time and fell in love with them at their engagement session at Oak Mountain. I think I loved them even more after witnessing them share such a sweet and special moment together. We are very blessed to have been able to celebrate with them on their special day!
Hilary & Hunter
The clients turned friends. We have seen these two go through so much since their big day but we will never forget their first look at Church of the Highlands! We actually met Hunter for the first time on his wedding day and it didn’t take any time at all for us to become quick friends. We learned that Hunter is a man with a big heart and he has a major love for Hilary and a love for the Lord as well. We watched him several times dedicate time to pray and the first look was no different. We loved how they took time out to grow their relationship with each other and God. It was very special and we loved giving them a little extra privacy during such a special moment.
Alexis & Jacob
We knew Alexis from a previous wedding we had worked where she was the wedding coordinator. We became quick friends and fell in love with Jacob immediately on the wedding day as well. It seems like just yesterday but the time before a first look can feel like it’s in slow motion. There is always quite a few nerves and sometimes that all builds up to the peak when they finally get to see each other. It became very easy to see when we saw Jacob’s reaction to Alexis, he loves her. SO MUCH! It was such an amazing day at Water Oak Manor in Auburn, AL and we still reflect back on this day frequently!
