Here we go!!! If you have already read Ashley + Lee’s blog then you know what brought us out further East; however, if you haven’t I got to tell you that you’re missing out, so head on over HERE to check out Ashley + Lee’s amazing anniversary session in Charleston!! We were out the door early in the morning to make the drive the day before this anniversary session in Charleston. We didn’t make it in time to try some Charleston food on the first night, but we did eat Cook Out for dinner, and it just doesn’t get any better than that for the delicious price of $5. If you’ve never had Cook Out next time your in South Carolina – Do yourself a favor. Day 2 we headed out for some ‘splorin. We rode over to the great and magnificent Angel Tree. It’s hard to believe a tree that’s 400 + years old is still standing so beautifully. For those of my friends who are unaware the Angel Tree is a Live Oak Tree and is located just outside the beautiful city of Charleston. It was worth it to see and it really made me think if trees could talk what would their stories be. This tree has been through so much and I would just love to know what the world was like back then. It’s breathtaking! After taking it in and talking to a nice old man about a painting we headed over the Boone Hall Plantation; mostly for the Live Oak Tree canopy but all for a little history lesson. It was a great adventure for the day. They drove us around the plantation and grounds to take a good look at everything they still do there. It is actually one of the few plantations that is still running. They grow so much delicious produce and even some cotton! We walked around and snapped some photos … Jax still getting toted around in the carrier. What a life saver that thing was!! I think he enjoyed it a little … There was a really nice breeze!! We ate lunch at a place that not only had delicious entrees but had DEEP. FRIED. DEVILED. EGGS. Need I say more?? No? Didn’t think so … it was wondrous. We spent the rest of the evening hanging out with good ole Ashley + Lee. Talking all things food, drinks, family, wedding industry and love over a tasty dinner and becoming closer friends by the end of it. I wish we had more than just a day in Charleston, but it was worth every minute.
After Charleston, we headed a little North to Myrtle Beach to surprise my brother and his soon to be wife with a little visit. My mom was already expected to arrive but they were unaware that a certain little baby and us were even close to their neck of the woods. So you can imagine their surprise when they got to see their sweet little nephew a couple months before the anticipated Christmas visit. I knew how special this was to them. They both work full time as well as go to school for Engineering / Psychology. They are two little smarty pants that’s for sure. I just always love being around my siblings. Whether its one or all it just is never frequent enough. I look forward to this Holiday season to have everyone closer than usual and really spend it with everyone we love. The holidays bring us to a certain place in life every year. We begin remembering everyone we have met this year and dreaming of everyone we will meet next year. 2017 has so much in store … 2 of which is a wedding in the beautiful state of Arizona along with heading out to Hawaii for some I do’s. What’s not to be thankful for?? So much to be happy about? Thank God for family and friends. The ride back was one that started early and was filled with a little sadness but that was soon filled with happiness knowing it won’t be long until we are all back together again!
