Cody + Elizabeth are some long time friends of mine. I’ve known Cody for about 10 years now. Which is crazy to look back on. Cody and I were always getting into something or hanging out. We’ve been on some big adventures together. From Senior Week in Panama City Beach to my bachelor party in New Orleans. Neither of which I can really tell stories about. But let’s just say we’ve had a lot of fun together. Now we get to follow Cody + Elizabeth along this adventure that beats anything we’ve done in the past year. And let’s be honest, Elizabeth gets a pretty sweet last name – Lucas. No Cody and I aren’t related ( that we know of ) but we might as well be. I’d be lying if I said that we haven’t told people that we were related. One funny story I can tell is Cody and I are both from Hueytown, Alabama ( you’ve probably never heard of it ). The Tornado of 2012 came right through our home town and it literally wiped out Cody’s whole street except his house. How crazy is that? Sara and I went over to his house to see what we could help do as well as just explore and see what happened first hand. They were only letting family into those neighborhoods. Well , guess what! I had an I.D with the last name Lucas on it. Enough about Cody and myself.
Cody and Elizabeth have been together for what seems like as long as I’ve known him. So they’ve been together for quite some time. I’m sure Elizabeth said “Finally” when Cody proposed. Sara was the same way =). When we found out Cody popped the question we knew we wanted to be the ones to photograph them. So we planned their engagement session and the beautiful Samford University. This was our first time shooting there and man we love it. That a beautiful campus.
Photographing a friend can be really tough. But they rocked their session – as you can see! Cody + Elizabeth, we are so excited to be yall’s friends and to watch you two open this new chapter. It’s such an amazing one and we know you guys will make things interesting! Congrats!
