It was a hot Saturday in May. All of Emily and Blake’s friends and family were gathered in the church she grew up in, ready to see the bride come down the aisle. The church doors opened, and Emily entered on her dad’s arm, stunning the crowd in her beautiful gown. Blake’s mom opened the ceremony with a joyfully tearful scripture reading, while Emily’s mom surprised everyone and ended the ceremony by donning her judges robe and officially introducing Mr. and Dr. Turner.
From the time I met the happy couple in Washington DC for their engagement session, I knew these two were special. They were so much fun to get to know, easy to talk to, and fun to laugh with. Blake even asked about my husband whom he had met in DC during their sunset portraits and told me to tell him he said “hey.” Our couples really can’t get any sweeter, can they?!
This wedding day was even more fun than their engagement session though! From the huge wedding party in classic champagne gowns and white coats, to the killer entertainment at the reception from 4 Barrel Funk. Everyone had such a good time celebrating these two and dancing the night away. Emily and Blake, thanks for inviting AL Weddings to be a part of your big day! It was an honor to be welcomed into Emily’s home alongside all of your favorite people to capture such a special time. I loved your classic nods to DC, like the capitol building cake topper and Emily and Blake campaign stickers for the guests at the reception. Enjoy some of our favorites:
