Geraldine and Dyer are both the kind of people who you meet and feel like you have known forever. You can see this in the way their friends speak about them during their rehearsal dinner. I wish there were a way for us to share all of the kind words they spoke about this sweet couple. We were blown away by the actual speeches given by their friends and family. It was evident that these two have impacted the lives of those around them in countless ways.
Geraldine and Dyer met in Birmingham, AL while they were in school at UAB. They have since moved to Nashville, TN but the couple still have a strong connection with Birmingham, and they had several landmarks they wanted to be sure were included in the photos and video. Geraldine and her bridesmaids started the day at the Tutwiler getting ready. We spent a good bit of time getting shots around the hotel and grounds. We then went over to the favorite “We’re Glad to have you in Birmingham” mural by John’s City Dinner. Both places were must have shots for them. The City Federal Building also holds a special place in their hearts.
The ceremony was held at St. Paul’s Cathedral in downtown Birmingham. This church was beautiful in every way, and the couple kept a smile on their faces throughout the entire ceremony. One of our favorite parts of the day was bagpipe procession from the Cathedral to The Florentine for the reception, which was only two blocks away. They danced late into the evening before the band played them out for their grand exit.
Days like Geraldine and Dyer’s are special for so many reasons. We couldn’t have been happier to be a part of the beginning of their lives together. They are the exact definition of a “power couple” and we have no doubt that their careers will take them to many new and exciting places. No matter where their road leads them next, though, Birmingham will always have their heart. Congratulations you two!
