While most people spend their Independence day cooking out and swimming we had the pleasure of hanging out with this wonderful couple and their beautiful families all day! Katie + Brett chose Lake Guntersville State Park in Guntersville, AL to host their big day. It was full of gorgeous views and nice weather! The morning of the big day it left many wondering if the rain was going to show itself during all the wedding day festivities and the prayers must have been answered because it went away and left us with gorgeous white puffy clouds and a bright blue sky!! It was absolutely perfect!
Everything went as perfectly as planned until … the ceremony. Don’t worry it wasn’t the weather, nor the schedule, and not even one person tripped when walking down the isle. During the exchanging of rings Katie must have been so excited (DUH!) or maybe nervous (definitely understandable!) OR maybe it was just Brett showing off his good looks that got her all mixed up and she slipped the ring on the wrong side. It left us and the guests full of laughs when it was finally pointed out. Although maybe that’s not a “perfect” ceremony but if you knew these two it was absolutely perfect and fitting for them. They had a friend be the efficient and you could tell he was more than happy to be such a large part in the wedding. He kept everyone laughing, crying, and kept it really fun and loving. I give him two thumbs up! He did a fantastic job!!
During the reception Katie shared a very heartfelt dance with her father. Although this can seem like a very small part to any wedding day this particular dance was extremely special. The week before the wedding Katie and her family got some very sad news about her father’s health. Can I just say CANCER SUCKS! He is such an amazing man and you can see the love that pours out of him not only for Katie but also for his other daughters and wife. So everyone was still pretty emotional when the wedding day came. When Katie danced with her father the entire room stood still. At that moment I truly understood even more than I had before what we truly do for people. We are eternally honored to capture these memories for those who are with us today to help all of us remember people, love, and laughter long after the memories pass.
Last but not least! I can almost bet that Brett + Katie had some of the best dancers at their wedding! I mean these guys were killing it all night long! Katie + Brett parted from the reception with a shot with their closest friends and family and a run through some rose petals. It was the perfect end to a great day and night! Thank you so much Katie + Brett for choosing us we are so blessed to have gotten to be a part of such a large milestone in your life! CONGRATS!
