Oh, Friends! We are so excited to share this sweet Birmingham engagement session with you all on this bright and wonderful Friday! We had a great time getting to know Chelsea & Brandon at the Rose Garden in Birmingham and talking all things wedding, shoes, & nicknames. It was great to share a common interest in Mexican Food – very specifically the less expensive & less fancy kind – & also Margaritas. This was basically our first and our last conversation of the day & we tend to get a little too excited to have multiple things in common with our couples.
It only took a couple of minutes for us to learn the very fitting nickname that Chelsea has … “Smiley”. This name is most certainly the most accurate nickname we have heard in a while and being a giggle box myself I felt really at home with a fellow happy lady. These two were so easy in front of the camera and we can’t wait to celebrate their sweet nuptials at The Barn at Shady Lane next year! Until then … read their sweet proposal story from Chelsea’s POV. When in Rome …
“Brandon graduated from Alabama’s MBA school in early May 2017, and we had been planning a trip to Europe to celebrate. Brandon’s cousin, Charlie, had just gotten married and he and his wife, Jill, were going to be on their honeymoon in Rome the same days as us. The first day in Rome we did an 8-hour walking tour to see all the main sights. The next day, since we had already hit all the main places, we were just taking our time, walking around the city. Brandon had mentioned wanting to go to Villa Borghese Gardens so we decided to walk through the gardens in search of a pond he remembered seeing pictures of. Once we got to the pond, we took several pictures of us and of Charlie and Jill and watched ducks almost attack each other. Brandon and I were facing the pond, leaning up against the railing and Charlie and Jill was behind us. I was about ready to leave when I realized something was going on with Brandon. Before I knew it he was down on one knee and asking me to marry him. I was in complete shock! Charlie and Jill were taking pictures and a video, and they captured the whole thing. We then went to a café and toasted with wine!”
