We are so excited to share with everyone the gorgeousness that is Jordan & Philip. We met for their engagement session last fall and it instantly had has hooked on these two. They are so adorably in love with each other and it shows on and off camera. We love the way that they love each other and their passion for Christ. We left feeling so full of love and happy that this is what we get the pleasure of doing every week.
Jordan absolutely killed it in her amazing gown. The day was filled with laughter about the length of her train and we made sure to spread it out for everyone to see. It was AMAZING! It’s definitely the first time in a long time that we get to enjoy such a gorgeous detail.
We thought it would be fun to share a little about the proposal that brought us to this day! Jordan describes it as, “A week before I left for Kenya, Philip and I went on a beach trip with his side of the family. While we were at the beach we were planning on doing family pictures and then go inside and celebrate his parents’ birthdays. That afternoon, while I was getting ready for family pictures, Philip’s dad walked into the room and asked if I could plan a way to get Mrs. Burke out of the house while he was having a birthday present delivered for her. Once he said that, all I could think about was trying to make sure Mrs. Burke was surprised with her gift. We took the family pictures, and then I asked Mrs. Burke and my soon-to-be sister-in-law, Morgan, to go to the store with me so I could get something I needed. We headed off to the store and I was stressing the whole time trying to make sure that we stayed gone long enough for the package to be delivered. While we were in the store, Morgan whispered to me that Mr. Burke had texted her and said we were good to go back. So I drove us back and pulled into the carport area. Mr. Burke was standing outside (and I was thinking it was so cute that he was so eager to give Mrs. Burke her gift that he had to wait outside in impatience haha). Then Mr. Burke asked me to go out back (towards the beach) and help Philip bring the gift up the back stairs. I walked toward the boardwalk and saw Philip standing at the end. There were candles lighting the boardwalk, flowers decorating the end, and he was holding a rose. The backdrop was absolutely gorgeous. The sun was shining, and all I could see was the ocean behind Philip. I walked to the end of the boardwalk, crying the whole way. Philip gave me a hug, talked about our relationship and the parts of my character that he loves, read part of the letter that I wrote him on our six month anniversary and then told me “I know you are giving your summer to Kenya, but I want you to give the rest of your life to me.” He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes and he put the ring on my finger. Then I looked up to see that not only was Philip’s whole family there, but my entire family had driven down to the beach to watch us get engaged. It was honestly the perfect engagement.”
We have been looking forward to this wedding for about a year and it is certainly one of those “I’m said it’s over” kind of weddings. We have enjoyed spending time in awh over their young sweet love and although it isn’t something that everyone gets to find at such an age we are so incredibly happy to have bene able to document it. We are thankful for sweet couples like this who find each other a little sooner than some and get even longer together on this Earth. We love you Jordan & Philip and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for you two!! ENJOY!
