The week of Rhonda + Johns wedding we had our eye on the weather channel, just like every other wedding photographer. It was the weekend that Hurricane Joaquin was predicted to hit the east coast. We watched as the rain prediction went from 80%, down to 50%, down to 30 and eventually settling on around 25%. We all know in Alabama the weather can go a complete 180°. So even at 25% we still came prepared for rain. Sara and I were in the same boat for our wedding except it was predicted 90% chance of rain. We bulked up on “wedding umbrellas” and we still have a good many left over. We brought these along just in case. Either way we knew… WE GOT THIS.
You would think Rhonda would be in full on panic. Well, she wasn’t. She was a cool as a cucumber! Which made us feel great. Rhonda and John weren’t worried in the least. They were ready for whatever came their way. All that mattered to them was that they were getting married. Yes, it was a little brisk, overcast and sprinkled here and there. Other than that, the day was amazing. We were still able to get them outside to do some photos. They were ready for whatever. Rhonda wasn’t worried about a little frizz or getting the dress dirty! The dress might have gotten a little dirty, but her hair was locked down. Rhonda is a hair stylist if you didn’t know. =).
This was our first time being at American Village in Montevallo, Alabama. I’ve been there once before in high school, but it’s been one of our buck list venues to shoot at. It was an amazing place and Rhonda + John!
