Chanley and Rob’s wedding day was special for so many reasons. Not only was it a fantastic day filled with laughter, love, and excitement but also it was a great way for us to kick off the summer wedding season. Living in Alabama means always guessing what the weather will do regardless of what the weather channel says. One thing we have learned is to take what the weatherman says with a grain of salt because most of the time he has no idea what he’s talking about (joking). But seriously, the forecast here in the south can have brides biting their nails right up until the very last minute. This day Mother Nature decided to calm down, and we ended up capturing some breathtaking footage.
Chanley and Rob were married at a small but adorable Church in Branchville, Alabama on April 23rd. We began the day at the Heritage House right down the street. Chanley and her bridesmaids spent the morning getting hair and makeup done, taking photos, and entertaining us with their latest segment of “tub talks” (you should probably check out their YouTube channel). We always have a blast capturing the candid moments of family and friends as the excitement builds towards the big moment where the couple says “I Do.” Chanley and her mother exchanged gifts only to discover how truly alike they are, laughing at the fact that they gave each other the same thing.
After Chanley slipped into her beautiful dress, it was time to see her husband-to-be. He was waiting in front of the church with bouquet in hand. We excitedly watched as Rob turned to see his bride for the first time in her fabulous white dress. We had a small mishap with the vale, but Rob came quickly to the rescue (see the video). This was the first time we’ve ever witnessed the groom himself placing the vale on the bride. This small moment just shows how easygoing Chanley and Rob were throughout the day. They were such a fun-loving couple, whose laughter was contagious and we had no trouble capturing those beautiful smiles.
The big moment finally came as the congregation rose to their feet and watched as Chanley walked the aisle to be united with the man of her dreams. The pastor spoke of the love that Rob and Chanley share and how God had guided their lives to each other. Friends and family gathered around the couple and prayed God’s blessings upon their future. Chanley and Rob both said the magic “I do” and cheers erupted in the church house as the pastor announced the new couple for the very first time.
The reception that followed was filled with great music, dancing, great food, and even a few individual performances from some of the musically talented bridesmaids. We couldn’t have asked for better weather or couple to spend the day with. We are so happy for Rob and Chanley, and we wish them the very best in their future together!
