ANNNND. Cue the tears.
Okay, so my baby is certainly not the newborn he was a year ago today. It’s strange. So much of his first days have left my mind. I think of them so often and it doesn’t feel like 365 days have passed since we were gifted with his arrival. For those of you familiar with newborn babies. They are basically a crying, pooping baby doll. The amount of excitement we had as new parents over him choosing to do things that are simple to us. Like smile. OR when he sat in his bassinet and decided to raise his hand and ever so slightly hit the toy hanging in front of him. How about the sweet moment when they finally stared at YOU and not just whatever was in front of their tiny face. I mean newborn days were HARD but very bitter sweet now. We are often laughing to ourselves about wishing that Jax would sleep like the good ole days! Now we for sure aren’t taking into account all the unknowns we had back then but sleep like that would make us WAY more productive.
His milestones have slowed down but we are finally getting more into the walking zone. Some spaces he will conquer but the long travels are still difficult. He really likes to mimic more than ever and we have managed to get words like Dada, Mama, Kitty, Hi, Bye Bye, and some other questionable sorts. I try not to believe that whatever comes out of his mouth MUST be a word. That must be the nurse in me haha. I am so excited to celebrate with a birthday party on Sunday for this little man. Today we will be spending the day doing all things Jaxon! A stop by the ice cream place is a must and some good ole play time at the park. We will be celebrating at Jax’s favorite food place – El Patron. Probably by that time of day a Margarita will be much needed and appreciated! Thank you so much for following our little family! We hope to come up with another idea to continue to allow everyone a little insight into our time with the now “toddler”.
