WOW! It has been quite the month .. so much so that we are late on our blog! After dealing with a whirlwind of a month I like to think I have my feet firmly planted ready for this tornado of a wedding season to hit us. We are as ready as we will ever be and hoping we don’t let things get too quiet around here! As much as I do these sweet little blogs for everyone who “might” read them I keep in mind that I am mostly doing them for me. I want to look back every month and see how big my little man has grown & all the exciting things we did that month. Month to month there won’t be much of a change but a years worth … now that’s a tear jerker for ya.
We love our little family and this next year will be a big one for us. We are going lots of places & seeing many new things and the difference between NB – 1 year was HUGE but honestly being a first time parents & I have had little to no experience with littles haha So I did half expect my kid to be saying some tangible sentences and words by 1 year and basically swimming like Michael Phelps by now. As a Mom … I just didn’t know what to expect. However, now I’m constantly playing games with how old is that child & I’m getting pretty good so I know that by 2 my little man will be a little boy & leaps & bounds different then he is today. Which is why you may find me a little more patient then usual while also trying not to pull my hair out on a day to day basis. He has gotten a little more cuddly lately. In the mornings we wake up & watch Moana … EVERY. MORNING. Just about. Then we will finish it in the afternoon after school. So I’m basically singing “Your Welcome” & that other song at the beginning of the movie. Anyways, on to our adventures for the month of August!
1. PORTLAND, OR – LOLO is MARRIEDLauren is my very best friend of about 20 years & we have been through and seen it all together. Be on the look out for her overly sappy blog of my love for her & sweet Ash!
2. Jax started his first full year of Mother’s Day Out!
Jax did the summer program & has loved it! He got moved up to the “Baby Bootcamp” class 🙂 He loves to Dot Dot on paper, my sweet little Picasso, plays with his sweet friend Dawson, & is officially a 1 nap a day napper! I know there are Moms cheering with me on that one! He won’t stand still to let us capture him & his dapper in a Finding Dory t-shirt self. So currently it’s the holding pose & forcing a little love as you can see on the right!
3. We watched the Eclipse in Nashville, TN!
Absolutely INCREDIBLE! Crazy thing? We weren’t gonna go. Excuses piled up about how Jax couldn’t make the trip & like any good friends Alex & Katie really insisted their sweet godson COULD make the trip … They didn’t really say it but I knew they were thinking it haha so we went for it! Trip there was a breeze! With an iPad at our side we conquered the trip & found a place and watched! The way home took a good 8 hours due to traffic, wrecks, roadwork, etc. We stopped for Cracker Barrel (MMMM) & hoped it would be the last stop til home … NOPE. We considered stopping at a hotel & we still wish we would have :/ However, a miserable night was worth the lifetime of memories with our best friends and sweet son. We WILL be making a special trip when Jax is 8 to New York for him to have an actual memory of it! So who’s coming?
4. These two precious couples had an Engagement Session!!! GORGEOUS! (You can take a further peak by going to their blog!)
Amber & Nick – July 2018 (Jamaican Wedding YA MON)
Kaleigh & Jordan – October 2018
5. We celebrated Marriage next to two (more) sweet couples this month!!! Wish them well in their new journeys! (You can take a further peak by going to their blog!)
6. Unpopular Number that most people don’t care about … WE GOT NEW COMPUTERS!
OKAY OKAY! I have been working on a slower than molasses computer from 2012 & Alex’s was a little speedier but still from 2011 or something like that. I busted out of our office mid day upset & angry because my dang computer would take ALL DAY to export photos from a wedding for our sweet client. This is with the inability to do anything else on it & Alex has told me time and time again I did need a new computer. However, that day … the straw that broke the camel’s back … I couldn’t take it anymore. So alas here I am typing from this speed demon of electronics & happy as a clam about it!
IT’S FALL Y’ALL!
