Molly is our 5 year old American Pit Bull Terrier who is just a BIG baby. We don’t have any kids so we treat our dogs just like children. So what do most parents do when their babies have a birthday? A photo session!!! We’ve done plenty of studio session with our puppies when we get new equipment and want to test it out but we had to step this one up a notch. Sara came up with the idea of a smash the cake session.
Ok by now I’m sure you’re thinking, “these people are nuts.” We accept that =]. Just wait until you see these pictures and then you’ll know how crazy we are for our puppies.
Just to give you a little back story about our dogs. When Sara and I first moved in together we knew we wanted a dog. Never in a million years did we think that we would end up with two huge Pits but it was love at first sight when we saw Krugar (our almost 6 year old male Pit). Not too long after getting Krugar, Sara wanted a girl dog for her. Then came Molly. A dog we found on Craigslist at 10pm on a weeknight and went to pick her up an hour later.
When Molly was about 6 months old she was actually stolen from our back yard. That was probably one of the worst thing that ever happened to us. Long story short we had an old man in our neighborhood who has about 12 dogs and also drives around daily to feeds every stray dog he can find. I even saw him hand feed a wild raccoon once. This man had a very strong faith and said it was his duty to help any animal in need. This same man built us a dog house when we moved in and came by once a week to put fresh hay in it.
Once he heard our dog was stolen he took it upon himself to help us get her back. He told us that God told him we would get Molly back, but we couldn’t give up looking for her. Almost 10 days go by with no sign of finding Molly. That winter it even snowed and we knew that if she was outside, she probably wouldn’t make it through such cold weather.
About 4 days later I got a call from a man, who got my number from one of the hundreds of signs we had put up about her being stolen. He told us that he had “found” our dog. This same man who we later found out was our garbage man. To save time I’ll keep our opinions of what we think actually happened and how this man came upon getting our precious puppy. We are just happy to have this puppy back in our lives.
After lots of vet visits later and finding out she had a few health issues from being in such cold and not being fed, Molly is 100% better. So for her birthday we wanted to share these pictures of our little girl.
We love to hear what you think. Leave a comment below.
