Hey, Y’all! Wedding days can be pretty painful. As a wedding photographer here in Birmingham we experience all sorts of different weather, venues, etc. They don’t call it a wedding day hangover for nothing right? Well, I have found that a huge part of a wedding day hangover is what I wore on my feet. Us wedding photographers move A LOT! We have tried an awful lot & its been tough finding a pair of shoes that not only looks great & professional but feels great too!
When I was pregnant I tried some various nice sandals & although they look nice my feet are pretty disgusting and full of cramps by the end of the day. However, during pregnancy that was just about the only option available. Tieks seem to be amazing; however, I haven’t personally tried them myself because of that hefty price tag. It makes me cringe! So, just know the pairs I am about to show you won’t break the bank or your precious feet!
1. My all time favorite pair of Sandals is Ahnu. They are super comfy & are perfect for the wedding that is outdoors or may have me running outside a good bit! I wear them with my normal wedding day dresses & they match with them perfectly! I purchased them through Amazon in the Taupe. They allow my feet to breathe & that’s a huge bonus! The only negative … with really any sandal is I feel I need pretty toes to wear them! I am so thankful for Katie Jewell for recommending these to me! Such a life saver for sure.
2. I searched far & wide for a great flat. OH MY, these were love at first sight! I love that they are a cotton fabric vs the usual leather/pleather. This means my heels are saying thank you because I have never had even a single blister from these shoes. They also have an amazing memory foam sole that makes me even happier! After half the year has gone they are still holding up without falling apart! I purchased these directly from a Skechers store here in Hoover, AL; however, they are available online as well! I love the gray! I try to stay away from any crazy patterns & They just released some new styles and I’m a little too obsessed.
3. I don’t wear these much in the summer time; however, they are a huge win for Fall & Winter weddings! Toms hit a home run with these wedges & look super cute with any adorable dress or leggings combo. I have thought about adding an insole to them; however, to be honest, they really don’t need it! These are amazing because they come in so many great neutral colors to pair with just about anything you dream of! Great job Toms! I purchased these from Nordstrom Rack & Toms online store! With such a large brand they can be purchased nearly everywhere which is great!
Well, those are my top favorites for wedding days & any shooting days for that matter! I know there is still a world of shoes and these are definitely not the end all be all in shoes for the wedding creative industry. They are certainly just my personal favorites! Being a Birmingham Wedding Photographer we don’t have a huge shopping scene & we definitely rely a little too much upon online shopping. I am so happy to share with you all today & hope you ENJOY!
