Welcome back, y’all! Today we’re sharing something a little different, a bridal luncheon we had the joy of photographing at Shoppe Birmingham, held the morning before Molly’s wedding at The Farrell in Homewood.
We don’t get to capture luncheons very often, so when we do, we love making sure the day gets its own moment on the blog instead of getting folded into the wedding post. This one deserved it. Shoppe Birmingham’s greenhouse is easily one of our favorite hidden spots in the city, all dark green ironwork and glass against old brick, with topiaries and hanging baskets crowding in from every direction. On a clear morning the whole space fills with soft, green tinted light, and it made for the prettiest backdrop for a table full of the women who love Molly most.
Molly’s mom pulled the styling together herself, and it showed in the details. A soft green floral linen anchored the table, with blue and white place settings and hydrangea blue accents carried through the centerpieces. Every seat had its own favor waiting, a little ceramic pot tied with a blue ribbon and a hydrangea sugar cookie wrapped up like a gift, each one tagged with a guest’s name. It’s the kind of detail that tells you exactly how much care went into the morning before anyone says a word.
The guest list was full of Molly’s family and closest friends, and we loved seeing Corey’s mom and sister there too, a sweet bridge between both families before the wedding day ahead. The gathering itself was short and easy, mostly settling in over lunch under all that greenhouse light, but it’s exactly the kind of quiet, in-between moment we think deserves to be documented. Not every beautiful thing on a wedding weekend happens on the wedding day itself.
We always love a reason to shoot at Shoppe Birmingham, and getting to do it the morning before Molly married Corey made it even better. Congratulations again, Molly and Corey, we hope the rest of the weekend was everything you dreamed of.
