So for months I have been scouring the Internet and my current iTunes music trying to compile the best music for my wedding. What I have came up with, I think, is a great play list and also a good mixture of modern, oldies, dance, and slow dance songs. Doing the playlist my self and assigning one of my friends to be in charge of my iPod has saved us a lot of money by not paying for a D.J. Now I’m not saying that a D.J isn’t worth the money. It would be really nice not to have to worry about any of the music, spending all the money buying tons of songs, and mainly worrying that something could go wrong. So if you have the money, spend it. Hire a D.J to do your wedding. For us personally we had a decent budget but not enough to spend on a D.J. So I wanted to share EVERY song we are going to use and some other helpful tips to help you out.
Ok. First I want to recommend an app. Its called Wedding DJ. What this app does is allow you cross fade songs so there is never an awkward pause between songs. The basic music player doesn’t let you do this. Another great thing is it already has some pre-made music categories set up. I.E Processional, Recessional, First Dance, Etc.(Image below)
That’s awesome because if you’re like me and very scatter brained, it’s nice to have some guidance. So you can follow along with the pre-made categories or make your own. (bottom Left) Another great feature is how easy it is to work. You link the playlist or song from your music app on the phone and press play. If you need to pause or skip a song, it slowly fades out so it’s not a distracting abrupt stop in the music.
What I did with the entire play list was way over compensate. I have WAY too much music in each playlist. But I just want to make sure that the music never stops unless I want it to. The cool thing is that when you’re ready to go into the next playlist, just swipe the top bar and it goes right into the next play list. Seamlessly!( Top Right ) These are just a few of my favorite features of this app. It has a few more things you can do like turning on airplane mode and things like that but check it our for yourself and its only $4.99 in the app store.
So go get this app. Another thing I found is that some songs have a long intro or something I didn’t want at the beginning of the song. I’m going to show you how to remove intros or annoying beginnings or endings out of the song. OR say you have a first dance song planned but its 5-6 minutes and you’re like me and don’t want to dance that long. Ill show you how to trim the song down in iTunes to end or start at the perfect time.
Ok. The song I wanted for my cake cutting is “Grow old with you” by Adam Sandler from the Wedding Singer soundtrack. If you listen to it, it has a long intro. Here’s what you do is, go to the song, in iTunes, and right click it and go to Get Info. Then Click Options . Check the start time box and enter the time you want the song to start and push OK. (Image Below)
So if the song has a 30-minute intro, put 0:30. That makes the song start at 0:30 every time you play it in iTunes. BUT the kicker is this will not work on your iPod. It will start at the very beginning of the song like you didn’t do anything. This is what you need to do to make if work on your iPod.
Right click the song again and click Create ACC Version.(Image Below) This will make a whole new version of the song. So you may need to go find it and put it back in the appropriate playlist or wherever. You now have 2 versions of the song. One, that has the first 30 seconds deleted and one, that still has the whole song but starts 30 seconds into the song. You want the one that starts at 0:00 but has the part you don’t want, deleted out. I delete the other version of the song so I don’t get confused. That’s it. Just do this to any song you want to trim up a little to fit your needs.
Now, like I said I’m going to list out every song I have chosen and what we are using it for. I know how hard it is to find the right music that all ages can have fun with. Maybe this will help.

On the app, do you pay for each song or do you have to already have the music on your phone ?
Unquestionably believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason seemed to
bee on the internet the easiest thing to be aware
of. I say to you, I certainly get irked while people think about worries that they plainly don’t know about.
You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well as defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people can take a signal.
Will likely bbe back to get more. Thanks|If you don’t
mind, I would liike to share this blog with my followers on twitter?
Hi! is this app not available anymore? 🙁
